Dave is a renowned trial lawyer and seasoned business counselor that protects and pursues his clients’ interests. Dave’s diverse litigation practice focuses on complex commercial, employment and intellectual property litigation in state and federal courts, and administrative forums in Texas and across the country. Dave's clients include individuals and businesses of all types and sizes, mostly based in Texas or with operations in our state, but Dave has successfully represented clients in cases across the country.
Dave has handled many high-profile cases that have generated significant media coverage, including in 2017 when news agencies and media outlets across the world published stories of Dave’s client, wedding photographer Andrea Polito, after prevailing in a jury trial on a defamation case against two former clients who pursued an extensive news and social media campaign against her. Hundreds of media outlets covered the story, including CNN, The New York Times, CBS News, The Washington Post, Dallas Morning News, New York Post, Huffington Post, People Magazine, Inside Edition, the U.S. News & World Report, and many others.
Dave was featured as a legal expert in the Hulu documentary “The Age of Influence” (episode 3: “Fiber Feud”).
Dave has also appeared many times on local news stations to provide legal commentary on a variety of subjects, as well as podcasts and other social media channels, and has guest lectured at North Texas law schools and served as a guest speaker, panelist, and moderator in many Continuing Legal Education seminars.

In addition to his trial practice, Dave serves as outside general counsel to several businesses. In this capacity, he has negotiated contracts and large distribution agreements, executive employment and severance agreements, and conducted regulatory compliance investigations. Dave has substantial experience with issues related to employment contracts – and is a contributing author to the Texas Lawbook published book, Texas Litigators’ Guide to Departing Employee Cases.
